Positioning

Posted by Picasa A320 CS-TNS on the tarmac at Lisbon airport shortly to be flown without passengers, cargo or cabin crew to nearby Porto. The fuel load is very low since our flight is quite short. On empty flights such as this one it becomes clear that these airplanes are made to fly with a loaded wing which makes aircraft handling more pilot friendly.

Attitude

Posted by Picasa Up close with the sunlit standby attitude indicator. This is the only conventional gyroscopic intrument on the airbus flight deck and since its powered by a very reliable DC electric source, when all goes wrong with other flight instruments, you can usually count on this one.
