Positioning

Posted by Picasa A320 CS-TNS on the tarmac at Lisbon airport shortly to be flown without passengers, cargo or cabin crew to nearby Porto. The fuel load is very low since our flight is quite short. On empty flights such as this one it becomes clear that these airplanes are made to fly with a loaded wing which makes aircraft handling more pilot friendly.

    1. Positioning flights place an airplane at a different location for it to be used for a scheduled flight. Since they are not regular flights, there are no passenger reservations. They are expensive and operators only use them if they have to.
