US Airways Airbus A330 1000ft above flying the same airway as us in the opposite direction. In Spanish airspace, Air Traffic Control have made direct routings virtually unavailable for the last few years as a (misguided, in my opinion) political statement. Unfortuantely this has a direct negative impact on airline operating costs which translates to a degraded service to the travelling public. On the plus side however it makes for good pics since every airplane is on the airway network. A319 CS-TTE from Geneva to Lisbon with wake turbulence in mind...
You've better forget those bloody Air Traffic Controllers and deviate to one side, to avoid wake turbulence...
ReplyDeletePedro, I think you may be right. I guess it means something when strategic lateral offset procedures usually used in Africa is required in...Spain. Let's assume the reason is to avoid wake turbulence.
ReplyDeletenone- the -less, spectacular shot! ... did you end up "feeling" the WT?
